Terms of use
Plain terms for using BOQ Estimator at boqtoexcel.com. By uploading a file or using the converter you agree to them.
1. The service
BOQ Estimator reads the tables of a Bill of Quantities or schedule of rates PDF, returns the item lines and section figures in spreadsheet form, and compares the sums it extracts with the subtotals printed in the document. It is a data-entry and checking aid. It does not measure quantities, price work, give cost advice or replace the issued tender documents.
2. Acceptable use
You must not use the service to:
- process forged, altered or fabricated documents, or documents presented as something they are not;
- upload documents you have no right to upload, including tender documents that you are not permitted to copy or pass to a third party;
- get around the free allowance, the plan limits or any technical limit of the service;
- send content that is unlawful, or files designed to disrupt the service or the systems it runs on.
We may refuse or stop a conversion that appears to break these rules.
3. Your files
You keep all rights in what you upload. You give us permission to process it to provide the conversion. Files are processed in memory and deleted after conversion; how that works, and who processes the file, is set out on the privacy page.
4. Accuracy and your responsibility
Text recognition and table reading can be wrong, especially on poor scans. A subtotal that ties shows that the extracted amounts add up to the figure the document prints. It does not show that the document is right or that nothing was misread in a way that cancels out. Check the result against the source document before you use it in a tender, and do not submit a price that relies on it unchecked. You are responsible for the prices you submit.
5. Free allowance and plans
The free allowance is 1 file per day, up to 10 pages, no account. Pro is $99 a month for 60 BOQs a month and files up to 150 pages. Team is $249 a month for 5 seats and 250 BOQs a month. Prices are in US dollars. The billing terms of a subscription, including renewal and cancellation, are shown at checkout by the payment provider. We may change the allowance, limits and prices; a change to a price does not apply to a period already paid for.
6. Availability
The service is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error free, or that a long file will convert within a particular time. If a conversion fails, the page shows the reason.
7. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that arise from decisions made, or tenders submitted, using the output of the service, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
